For 25 years I've worked as an activist, educator, community organizer, consultant, change agent, risk taker, organizational therapist, author, coach, entrepreneur and provocateur. Many hats but one goal...to make the world a better place by helping those who make the world a better place.
I spend most of my time working to help organizations develop and implement their Internet and Web strategy. I'm not a tool builder but focus on the best strategies and tactics that nonprofit organizations, foundations and networks can use to meet the need of their stakeholders. I also do a lot of strategic business planning, evaluation and coaching.
The most recent incarnation of my work is with the Summit Collaborative which I founded 2000. For eight years we have helped hundreds of organizations become more efficient and effective. Strategic planning, program development and evaluation, Internet/Website and technology strategy as well as coaching is what we do. My role as founder and is to bring together and lead teams of talented people to develop projects and serve our clients.
As far as history a lot has passed under the bridge before Summit. I was part of the first wave of nonprofit activists to use technology in the 1980's when I was with Greenpeace and the PIRGs. In the 90's I spent time as a public school teacher and teacher trainer as well as started a successful catering company.
I'm very proud of the work I've done to energize thousands of people in workshops and help hundreds of organizations better meet their mission. Additionally I'm pleased to look back on the extensive library of published reports, videos, case studies, tools and articles I've authored which are used by thousands of people each year. It's been a good 25 year run and the next should be even more fun!
